Insurance Premiums Fall in 2009

Insurance premium volumes globally fell by 1.1 percent in 2009, according to a report released on Tuesday by Swiss Re, a Switzerland-based reinsurance company. Life insurance premiums declined by 2 percent to $2,332 billion while non-life remained constant at $1,735 billion. The study covers 159 insurance markets globally
